Pharmacokinetics (Definition and Facts)

Pharmacokinetics is the study of the time course of drug:
  • A - Absorption
  • D - Distribution
  • M - Metabolism
  • E - Excretion
The acronym ADME is often used to remember the separate components of this process.
Pharmacokinetics can also be simply defined as what the body does to the drug.
